Sideboard, Credenza, or Buffet?
They all have one thing in common - sideboard, credenza, and buffet are a short cabinet-style piece of furniture. A credenza is a sideboard that has no (or very short) legs. A buffet is a sideboard that has longer legs and is taller than credenza and sideboard. Sometimes they are also called "media units." A sideboard is usually taller than credenza and buffet because they have additional space to display decorative pieces.
Where to place a sideboard?
Sideboards are not bulky like other cabinets and dressers. They're usually under 20" inches deep, so they're great also for small spaces. You can place it along a wall, by a window, behind a sofa, or at the end of a bed. They are a great storage unit for a living room, office, dining room, and bedroom!
